ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, APRIL 16 /SRNA/ – The head of the Committee Protecting Serbs' Rights in the FBiH Đorđe Radanović says that Serbs in the FBiH trust only the Republika Srpska authorities and do not believe that the federal authorities or police will protect them from attacks such as the one occurred in Trubar village.
"Who is supposed to defend the Serbs from migrants in Trubar, what police, what authorities? After the genocide and ethnic cleansing in the 20th century, Serbs do not believe that any resolutions, declarations, or laws will protect them from being killed," Radanović said.
He emphasizes that Republika Srpska is the beginning and the end of every discussion regarding the Serb people status, without which there would be no Serbs.
"Without Republika Srpska, genocide would again be committed against Serbs; Jasenovac, Garavice, Prebilovci… would be repeated," Radanović stressed.
He adds that Serbs have not forgotten those who came from Kulen Vakuf in 1941 and carried out slaughtering in Trubar, Martin Brod, and surrounding villages.
"What comes next, raiding Rmanj? Serbs have seen this before, both in 1941 and in 1995," Radanović said.
He pointed out that the federal authorities took 20 villages from the Drvar municipality and assigned them to Bihać without asking a single Serb whether they wanted to be part of Bihać.
"Now migrants from Asia have come to attack and rob poor Serb residents," Radanović said.
Approximately twenty Serb returnees in the village of Trubar spent Easter in fear and uncertainty, as migrants after an unsuccessful attempt to cross the border into Croatia, broke into the local Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and looted several returnee households.
