BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Firefighting units from Banja Luka and Laktaši have responded to a call for assistance in fighting the fire in the municipality of Drvar issued by Mayor Dušica Runić.
Laktaši Mayor Miroslav Bojić told SRNA that one firefighting vehicle with three firefighters is heading from Laktaši to Drvar.
Dragan Babić, Head of the Civil Protection Affairs Department and the Professional Territorial Fire and Rescue Unit of the City of Banja Luka, said that a fire engine, four firefighters and 10 backpack sprayers were ready to head to Drvar.
"We are ready to set off; we are just waiting for Drvar to tell us whether they might need any additional equipment for us to send," Babić told SRNA.
A state of natural disaster has been declared in the area of the Prekaja local community in the municipality of Drvar due to the rapid spread of the fire. The fire is currently 500 meters from houses in the village of Poljice, Mayor Dušica Runić told SRNA.
