KOVAČEVIĆ: SHAMEFUL DECISION OF CEC

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 24 /SRNA/ - The decision of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ BiH to cancel the early elections for the president of Repuzblika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 electoral units is shameful, said SNSD spokesman Radovan Kovačević.

"We ask them and their boss - the occupation warden Christian Schmidt, why do they torture and mistreat us and why don't they immediately say that the Serbs and Republika Srpska do not have the right to elect their own president," Kovačević told the press in Banja Luka.

Stating that the election results were annulled in the places where the SNSD won, Kovačević asked if this is called democracy?

"It's unfortunate that this came from people who call themselves Serbs," Kovačević said, adding that he was referring, above all, to Vanja Bjelica-Prutina and Jovan Kalaba, who worked in the interest of those who elected them, namely SDS and PDP.

He pointed out that the presidents of the election committees were not appointed by the SNSD, but by the CEC.
