USEFUL AND GOOD MEETINGS IN ANTALYA

ANTALYA, APRIL 12 /SRNA/ - Serb Member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović says she had useful and good meetings in Antalya and that she is grateful for the attention shown to her by the interlocutors and for the opportunity to say what the views of Republika Srpska are and how she views everything that is happening in BiH.

Cvijanović has stated that the meeting with the host, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was interesting because the three Presidency members were able to show how much they disagree when it comes to BiH, the future of BiH and everything that is happening today.

"I pointed out our positions that I absolutely do not accept the setting in which some unelected foreigner can dictate how the country will look, that beyond his mandate and most importantly, beyond the appointment he should have had, he regulates certain areas so important in the life of a country," Cvijanović emphasized.

She has added that someone who is an unappointed foreigner cannot amend the electoral law, cannot suspend constitutions, and cannot amend the criminal law.

"These are the responsibilities and obligations of local institutions. Everything that is not the product of the work of local institutions means it is not relevant, must be carefully reviewed and put out of force. These are my views, which I expressed here," Cvijanović told RTRS.

She has stated that the other members of the Presidency /Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić/ had their usual stories that "boil down to Milorad Dodik".

"I had to make a joke at one point and I said, 'please, put another chair so that Mr. Dodik can sit here and explain everything', since they don not know to talk about anything else, except Milorad Dodik," said Cvijanović.

She added that it was interesting and that she was grateful to Erdogan for showing persistent interest in the situation in BiH, stressing that he is a great statesman who does not make any mistakes with his interpretations.

"I am grateful that he gave the opportunity for everyone to speak on an equal footing," said Cvijanović.

She pointed out that, as far as the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban is concerned, this is a long-term friendship.

"We are always interested in his vision, his views on what is happening within the EU, what is happening today in the EU - the USA relations, what is happening when it comes to efforts to end the war, which is the European war in Ukraine", stated Cvijanović.

She has pointed out that these are always precious things.

"They are precious because for us, Hungary is a proven friend and partner in the implementation of very important projects in Republika Srpska, and we want that to continue in the future; I am sure it will," said Cvijanović.

She said that she spoke with her African friends, yesterday with the officials of Sierra Leone, and today of Somalia, given that they are non-permanent members of the Security Council.

"I pointed out that, unfortunately, we are the only colony that exists today. Not unfortunately that there are no others, but unfortunately that there is one in the heart of Europe, living colonial life, which is absolutely unacceptable. And I always know that our African friends show understanding towards that, because they had a difficult history, the involvement of various foreigners in what they were going through," stated Cvijanović.

According to her, this was an opportunity to explain that even in such a country located in Europe, there an unappointed foreigner who believes he can pretend to be the parliament or even be above the parliament, which has caused a number of problems, not only in BiH; it has certain regional implications, but Europe is dealing with it.

"So I believe those were really useful and good meetings and I am grateful for the attention they showed, for the time they devoted to me and for the opportunity for me to say what the views of Republika Srpska are and how I look at everything that is happening in BiH," added Cvijanović.

Cvijanović is participating in the in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which started yesterday, and gathered more than 4,800 participants from more than 140 countries during three days.

The forum is held under the auspices of President Erdogan, the topic of which is "The Return of Diplomacy in a Fragmented World".
