STUTTGART, MAY 11 /SRNA/ - Consul General of BiH in Stuttgart Vera Sajić says that Christian Schmidt’s resignation is a consequence of Republika Srpska’s strong diplomatic engagement and the wisdom of its leadership, and that he should be held accountable for the damage he caused in BiH.

“Schmidt’s capitulation is a consequence of the new restructuring of the world and new policies that are emerging,” Sajić told SRNA, adding that Schmidt was never appointed by the UN Security Council, therefore should not have come to BiH at all.

She stated that the OHR should have been closed long ago, but that official Sarajevo has for 30 years pursued its policies with the help of the OHR, always to the detriment of the other two constituent peoples, especially Serbs.

“What Schmidt was doing here is dictatorship, because what else is it when one man imposes laws while ignoring elected representatives,” Sajić said.

She assessed that Schmidt caused great damage to the Dayton Peace Agreement, as well as to coexistence in BiH.

“The witch-hunt he conducted together with the former US ambassador in BiH against the democratically elected President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, must not be forgotten. That is unprecedented in recent political history, which he should be held accountable for,” Sajić stated.
