SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – Chairman of the House of Peoples in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Nikola Špirić told SRNA that the proposed this year's budget for the institutions and international obligations of BiH, which is on today's House of Representatives' session agenda, is a demonstration exercise in accusing Republika Srpska.
Špirić pointed out that at yesterday’s session of the House of Representatives, Republika Srpska MPs indicated that the budget is unconstitutional, illegal, and unenforceable.
"This is the package I'm talking about. Two BiH Presidency members, outvoting the Serb member Željka Cvijanović, proposed such a budget with the intent that MPs and deputies from Republika Srpska would vote it down, so it could then be said - `Look, they are the ones blocking the European path,`" Špirić stated.
He believes that this drawn-out saga must come to an end, and that the most logical step would be for the Council of Ministers to draft a new budget and for the BiH Presidency to respect that effort and the work already infused with many compromises, different political views, dialogue, and everything necessary in BiH at this moment.
According to him, deviating from that is, in fact, a mission impossible.
"As far as we're concerned, this budget doesn’t stand a chance. I believe it's an attempt to create an exit option for the Republika Srpska opposition, but let's not jump to conclusions – we should wait for today’s session outcome," said Špirić.
