BANJA LUKA, JUNE 30 /SRNA/ - SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will support, with a two-thirds majority, the veto of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, regarding the decision on the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments.
"The place of decision-making in BiH is not the Presidency, but the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. When it says that a decision of the Presidency is not valid, then it is not, and there is no further discussion," Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka.
He said that this would invalidate all the narratives and insinuations being spread publicly by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, Elmedin Konaković, and other political leaders from Sarajevo, who regularly belittle the institutions of Republika Srpska.
"It seems to me that through such behavior they have already decided to separate themselves from us. Everything they are doing in that regard further undermines BiH," Dodik said.
Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović said that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska will have the final say on the decision regarding the appointment of members of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, which she declared yesterday to be destructive to the vital national interest of Republika Srpska after it was adopted at a Presidency session without a quorum.
Cvijanović said that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, who proposed the decision, had acted unlawfully, and that constitutional and procedural rules were violated on multiple occasions during the Presidency session.
