MRKAJIĆ: BOSNIAK POLITICAL REPRESENTATIVES DO NOT WANT TO RESOLVE CRISIS, THEY HAVE KEPT THEIR PEOPLE IN THE DARK WITH LIES FOR 30 YEARS

BRATUNAC, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - Every response from Bosniak political structures to the calls for dialogue from Republika Srpska shows their lack of serious intent to resolve the constitutional and political crisis in BiH, Marko Mrkajić, the president of the SNSD Municipal Board in Bratunac, told SRNA.

In response to the daily comments from Bosniak politicians on with whom dialogue on the future of BiH can or cannot be conducted, Mrkajić told SRNA that they are not the ones to decide on behalf of the people of Republika Srpska, as it is the voters who elect their political representatives, so Bosniaks cannot impose Serbs who are suitable only to them.

“That constant media and political narrative about alleged fugitives is tragicomic even to the Bosniaks themselves, yet they do not abandon it because it allows them to pursue a populist and destructive policy that is increasingly losing popular support,” Mrkajić emphasized.

He noted that the situation in BiH is such that Serbs and Croats do not accept Bosniaks deciding about BiH and do not allow the creation of a ‘Bosniak BiH,’ but instead seek to preserve the Dayton and constitutional state community.

“Both Serbs and Croats have their aspirations, which are much more realistic and correspond to the current situation and relations in the country than what the Bosniaks are attempting, but they adhere to the Constitution and agreements. There is also unity around the idea of joining the EU and creating a space for a functional framework in BiH where agreements are respected and implemented, but all those agreements are being undermined by the Bosniaks.

They have derailed the Growth Plan and are blocking the adoption of European laws because they want to nullify the will of the Serbian people who elected the SNSD. This is not a well-intentioned approach that can rebuild trust among the peoples,” emphasized Mrkajić.

He pointed out that Christian Schmidt must revoke his decisions and thus restore BiH’s right to make decisions. According to him, Schmidt is an obstacle to BiH’s European path and its legal and political functioning.

“Schmidt is a foreigner who ‘intruded’ into BiH and undermined the entire legal order by placing himself above the law and judicial institutions. We cannot recognize institutions that judge based on a foreigner’s laws. No one has the right to demand that from us or expect it. Republika Srpska had to respond to this legal violence. By annulling the imposed decisions, space is created to return BiH to the right path. That path is one of respect, stability, peace, and cooperation, where no one like Edin Forto or Elmedin Konaković can come and say they won’t do something.

Konaković and Forto are neither the European nor the BiH story. They are a failed combination of Michael Murphy and Schmidt. They are now leaderless and say whatever comes to their mind. There are no politicians or partners there. Even the Bosniaks don’t expect anything more from them, as they have shown they can only call Schmidt and ask what to do next. They are true representatives of those who tie their horses wherever their master tells them,” Mrkajić said.

He says that BiH can only be built together with Republika Srpska and the legitimate representatives of Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks, as today emphasized by the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik in his address to the National Assembly, and that everything else is an adventure and experiment that foreigners have failed to complete even after 30 years because it is unfeasible.

“Neither can Serbs diminish the rights of Bosniaks, nor are we trying to, nor can Bosniaks continue to do what they have been doing for years. Republika Srpska is a reality, just as is the Dayton BiH. We Serbs are not going anywhere, and Bosniaks without Serbs and Croats cannot build any other concept except the one that is constitutional and agreed upon. All the ramblings of the Sarajevo political elite are lies and delusions in which they have kept the Bosniak people since 1995, and 30 years is no small time,” Mrkajić said.
