LAMBRINIDIS: BiH MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS BUT REFORM MOMENTUM HAS STALLED AFTER ACCESSION TALKS DECISION

NEW YORK, MAY 12 /SRNA/ - Major progress was achieved with the decision to open accession negotiations with BiH, but the momentum of reforms has since stalled, EU Ambassador to the UN Stavros Lambrinidis said.

Addressing the UN Security Council session on BiH, Lambrinidis said that the commitment of BiH political leadership led to the progress in question and that the EU remains committed to the European perspective of BiH.

Speaking on behalf of the EU, Lambrinidis called on all sides in BiH to return to the European path and implement reforms.

He added that EUFOR continues to play a key role in assisting authorities in maintaining peace and security.
