BANJA LUKA, APRIL 2 /SRNA/ – Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević says Republika Srpska knows what its property is and will not retreat from protecting it, emphasizing that issues such as this, which were resolved by the Dayton Peace Agreement, should not be reopened.
Kovačević pointed out that the BiH Constitution is clear because everything that is not specified as belonging to BiH, property is not listed, belongs to Republika Srpska and the FBiH.
"It is known what belongs to Republika Srpska and what belongs to the FBiH. It is also known which few competencies and rights belong to BiH; it is known that property is not one of those rights," Kovačević said, reacting to a statement by the FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić, who said that the southern gas interconnection project would not be implemented unless the issue of the so-called state property is resolved.
He stated that 49 percent of the territory of BiH and everything located on it belongs to Republika Srpska.
Kovačević told Republika Srpska Radio that there are many problems in BiH that need to be addressed, and that issues already resolved by the Dayton Peace Agreement should not be reopened, because doing so could only create bigger problems.
"Republika Srpska knows what its property is and will certainly not back down from it – it is a question above all questions! Srpska will know how to protect its property, because by protecting property we protect Republika Srpska," said Kovačević, who also serve as SNSD spokesperson.
