BANJA LUKA, MAY 13 /SRNA/ - International relations expert Lučiano Kaluža assessed that the UN Security Council session confirmed the correctness of Republika Srpska institutions' long-standing efforts to ensure that political processes within BiH are led by local leaders, and that Banja Luka, together with Moscow and Washington, will coordinate the selection of a new high representative.
Kaluža told SRNA that the debate on BiH in New York confirmed that policies based on foreign interventionism have failed.
"I am pleased that the Security Council has left the governance of BiH to its peoples, entities, and their legitimately elected leaders," Kaluža said.
He noted that statements by representatives of the United States, Russia, and China indicated that the era of the OHR in its current form is coming to an end and that alternative solutions are being considered.
"It was said that if a new high representative is appointed, it must be done in coordination and communication with local peoples. This is exactly what Republika Srpska has consistently argued, especially Milorad Dodik - in cooperation with Banja Luka," Kaluža said.
Kaluža believes it has finally been recognized that local leaders are only entitled to make decisions within BiH for their peoples.
"In that sense, I would draw an equal sign between local leaders and peoples; we know who implements and generates policies in BiH, in this case that includes Milorad Dodik," Kaluža nited.
