BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 19 /SRNA/ – Russian Ambassador to BiH Igor Kalabukhov stressed that Russia is convinced that BiH is fully capable of developing without external supervision, demonstrating social maturity.

"We expect the formation of government institutions at all levels in BiH as soon as possible, in the interest of progressive stabilisation in the country, strengthening peace and security in the Balkans, and further developing the Russia - BiH multifaceted relations," Kalabukhov told Glas Srpske.

He emphasised that, following the constructive formation of governments, intensifying Russia’s strategic partnership with Srpska would continue.

"Russia consistently advocates the earliest possible liberation of BiH from the malign Western protectorate, which primarily entails the closure of the OHR, which by interfering in BiH’s internal affairs only deepens divisions among the constituent peoples, preventing them from finding compromises and mutually acceptable solutions," Kalabukhov added.

He recalled that certain Western countries interfere in BiH`s affairs and attempt to impose themselves as a representative part of the international community.

"Russia`s approach and that of other countries representing the global majority, is fundamentally different and entails respect for international law, including the Dayton Peace Agreement, which guarantees BiH`s sovereignty while granting the entities broad constitutional powers," Kalabukhov said.

He says that the best path towards progress in BiH is one independently agreed upon by the country`s three constituent peoples and two entities through dialogue based on mutual respect.
