GOGANOVIĆ: OIL THEFT FROM BARRACKS STORAGE FACILITY AGAIN HIGHLIGHTS PROBLEMS IN DEFENCE SYSTEM

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 25 /SRNA/ – Deputy Minister of Defence in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović told SRNA that the disappearance of a quantity of oil from a storage facility at a barracks in Novi Travnik once again highlights problems in the defence system that require serious attention.

"Instead of media-friendly topics, the focus must be on concrete problems and responsible management. The defence system requires a serious and institutional approach, rather than management through the media," Goganović said.

He said he had been officially informed about the disappearance of oil from the Stojkovići storage facility in Novi Travnik, but that the competent commission should be allowed to complete its work and establish all relevant facts.

"Until then, I do not want to speculate about quantities or speak in advance about responsibility," Goganović said.

Media reports indicate that there is suspicion that as much as 150 tonnes of oil may have been stolen from the storage facility at the barracks in Novi Travnik.
