GERMANY FOLLOWING OLD POLICIES

BANJA LUKA, December 6 /SRNA/ – International relations expert Lučiano Kaluža considers it very important to establish relations with Germany based on understanding the new U.S. national policy, as this concept will be politically dominant in the Western Balkans and BiH.

“For Republika Srpska and BiH, Europe should be the biggest partner besides the United States. Germany’s position regarding the situation in the Western Balkans and BiH is one of the most important. However, we are now at a crossroads, which is the new U.S. national strategy that is in conflict with the policy promoted by Germany,” Kaluža told SRNA.

He emphasized that the debate in the Bundestag on the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement showed that Germany is still following old policies, the policies of a unipolar world.

“German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul spoke about potential centralization and strengthening of institutions at the BiH level, while the new U.S. national strategy does not address this at all. Instead, it gives more powers and greater political space to the policies of the entities and peoples in BiH,” Kaluža said.

In the debate on the 30 years of the Dayton, Alternative for Germany /AfD/ MP Aleksander Wolf stated that without national movement there can be no modern democracy, and that ethnic peoples play a key role in BiH.

He stressed that BiH cannot survive without the principles of the Dayton, and that attacks on the agreement amount to fueling escalation in the region.

“Christians, Serbs, and Croats in BiH do not want to become minorities in their own country,” Wolf said.
