SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Colonel General Gojko Knežević, told SRNA that objections have already been submitted regarding the draft regulation on the reserve force, including the fact that it is not in line with the Law on Defense and the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of BiH.
"We are now in the phase of monitoring whether corrections are being made to the draft in line with the objections we submitted," Knežević said regarding the disputed draft regulation on the reserve force of the Armed Forces of BiH.
He noted that the drafting of the regulation is being carried out within the Ministry of Defense by a team formed by Minister Zukan Helez.
"Organizational units of the Ministry of Defense and the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces submitted objections to the draft regulation that was forwarded for review," he explained.
General Knežević stressed that the Joint Staff focused primarily on the content of the draft, which was not fully harmonized with the provisions of the Law on Defense and the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of BiH.
According to Glas Srpske, in addition to generals, officers, NCOs, and soldiers who ended their professional service in the Armed Forces with an "honorable discharge," Helez's plan also foresees admitting individuals without prior military experience into the reserve force.
Implementation of Helez's plan would require additional financial resources, which he intends to secure from the budget of BiH's joint institutions.
