ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 3 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, emphasized that Republika Srpska seeks to participate in the EU integration process in accordance with its defined constitutional position and expects a more rational approach and greater understanding from the EU regarding the complex constitutional structure of BiH.
“We expect more support for domestic institutions and internal dialogue, rather than for unelected foreigners who undermine democratic institutions and discourage internal dialogue,” Cvijanović wrote on X after meeting today at the BiH Presidency with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
Cvijanović pointed out that foreign interventionism is incompatible with both European values and BiH’s progress toward the EU.
“BiH, where an unelected foreigner unconstitutionally and without authority changes the law, and the court acts based on such unconstitutionally amended law, cannot be treated as a rule-of-law state,” Cvijanović added.
