CVIJANOVIĆ: TRGOVSKA GORA-RELATED REQUEST TO VENICE COMMISSION BEING PREPARED

KOSTAJNICA, SEPTEMBER 18 /SRNA/ – Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović has said today in Kostajnica that Trgovska Gora issue-related request to the Venice Commission is being prepared, where Croatia plans to build a nuclear waste storage facility.

"This is being prepared on the recommendation of certain experts. We also want to obtain that type of opinion," Cvijanović told the press.

She has stressed that Trgovska Gora is one of the burning issues that has been ongoing for a long time.

"We are engaged in addressing this issue. I understand the concerns of our people, but they must also know that we will not give up on what is a healthy and safe life for Republika Srpska," Cvijanović said.

She stressed that the institutions continue to take action, and recalled the engagement of the Republika Srpska Government and the entity-level line ministries, as well as institutions at the state level.

"We in the Presidency have addressed this issue several times, and we asked the Office of the Attorney General to examine the case and determine how a complaint should be filed and whether we should pursue legal action against Croatia," Cvijanović said.
