EAST SARAJEVO, APRIL 8 /SRNA/ - The Serbian member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, said that today's session of the BiH Presidency, in which she was outvoted, will only serve to deepen the crisis in BiH and that it will not bring any benefit to anyone.
Cvijanović pointed out that one of the conclusions concerned the involvement of EUFOR in carrying out the arrest of officials from Republika Srpska.
"My colleagues /Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović/ said that if I disagree with the conclusion regarding EUFOR, I am challenging EUFOR's mandate. I had to explain that I am not challenging EUFOR’s mandate at all, but I am challenging the right of two members of the Presidency to dictate to EUFOR when and what it should do," Cvijanović said at a press conference in East Sarajevo.
Cvijanović emphasized that EUFOR has its own serious command that determines its priorities and how it should operate.
"For that, no prompting is needed from the two members of the Presidency, nor do they need what they have recently had the opportunity to see, which are those calls and requests for their assistance from politicians who come from the Bosniak side, or primarily, those who belong to the political Sarajevo," she said.
Cvijanović pointed out that they don't need to act in that manner.
"I believe that the BiH Presidency, under these circumstances, should have a productive and constructive role, one in which it could potentially come up with some proposal," Cvijanović said.
She noted that today’s session of the Presidency served as a platform for the political positions of its members.
"Of course, I will exercise my rights the way the Constitution has given me the opportunity. Republika Srpska and its institutions are the ones that do not threaten the territorial integrity; there is no separatism here, and none of the nonsense that is used to describe this to attract international attention," Cvijanović emphasized.
