SARAJEVO, JANUARY 6 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović extended Christmas greetings to Orthodox believers, saying that the power of this great holiday, in times that call for patience, wisdom and solidarity, spiritually strengthens, connects and unites people around the enduring Christian values of peace, love, mercy, forgiveness and mutual understanding.
"On the occasion of the most joyous Christian holiday - Christmas, I extend my sincere congratulations, with the wish that the joy and light of the holiday celebrating the Birth of Christ bring good health, happiness, prosperity and faith in better days into all homes," the congratulatory message reads.
Cvijanović addressed her greetings to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, the clergy and monastic community of the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as to all believers who celebrate according to the Julian calendar, the Presidency of BiH announced.
"With the wish that you spend the upcoming Christmas days, filled with warmth and peace, with your families and loved ones, I greet you with the traditional greeting: `Peace of God – Christ is Born!,`" Cvijanović's message states.
The Serbian Orthodox Church will celebrate Christmas tomorrow, the most joyous Christian holiday - the day of the Birth of Jesus Christ.
