CVIJANOVIĆ: SARAJEVO MOSTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR STALEMATE IN EU TALKS

PRNJAVOR, SEPTEMBER 17 /SRNA/ – Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated the country's negotiations with the European Union had stalled because an agreement could not be reached, partly due to the EU’s approach but mostly because Sarajevo had sought to control the entire process.

Cvijanović said political representatives from Sarajevo wanted to exclude matters that fall under the constitutional jurisdiction of Republika Srpska, impose their own position and present themselves as the only authorities responsible for the European integration process.

She added that no one could say when talks with the EU might resume, but that the current lull was evident.

Speaking to reporters in Prnjavor, Cvijanović said that no political party was currently presenting the European integration process as a priority in its political platform or telling voters what concrete steps should be taken along that path.
