CVIJANOVIĆ: REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA REMEMBERS THE VICTIMS OF THE HOLOCAUST

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JANUARY 26 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, stated that the Republika Srpska remembers the victims of the Holocaust.

"On the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust, a number symbolizing the six million murdered Jews was displayed this evening on the Palace of the Republic in Banja Luka,” Cvijanović wrote on the social network X.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted the Resolution on the observance of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust on November 1, 2005.

January 27 was chosen as the date of commemoration, marking remembrance of the millions of victims murdered in the Holocaust during the Second World War, as it was on that day in 1945 that units of the Soviet Army liberated the largest Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz
