ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 25 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović has stressed that, in reality, what Bosniak member of the Presidency Denis Bećirović calls the BiH diaspora actually functions separately as Serb, Croat, and Bosniak communities abroad.
"If this so-called ‘Global Network of BiH Diaspora’ was established within the office of only the Bosniak member of the Presidency, then it is a network of the Bosniak diaspora. If a truly unified BiH diaspora existed, such a body would have been formed under the tripartite BiH Presidency, for example", Cvijanović wrote on the social platform X.
According to her, in structural and identity terms, what Bećirović refers to as the BiH diaspora operates separately — as Serb, Croat, and Bosniak.
"It is what it is. There’s no need to fool ourselves or to make overambitious claims that any individual member of the BiH Presidency represents the entire country, even when it comes to the diaspora", Cvijanović stated in response to the announcement that a 'Global Network of BiH Diaspora' has been established within the office of the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency.
