EAST SARAJEVO, APRIL 10 /SRNA/ - Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović sent a letter to the head of the EU Delegation Luigi Soreca and the commander of EUFOR Major General Florin-Marian Barbu to inform them about the session of the Presidency, directly related to the work of their missions, and at which two members, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, despite her opposition, tried to abuse the institution of the Presidency, but also the EU Delegation and EUFOR.
"At the 123rd extraordinary session, held on April 8, the other two members of the BiH Presidency, despite my opposition, tried to abuse the institution of the Presidency and to use their own political moves to institutionally justify it.
"Without the desire and despite the constitutional obligation to try to reach a consensus, they voted for the adoption of political conclusions that call on EUFOR to assist in the arrest of the democratically elected president of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik," Cvijanović pointed out.
She clarified that this is only the first round of voting, and that, since it is undoubtedly a question of foreign policy, and in accordance with the Constitution of BiH and the Rules of Procedure of the Presidency of BiH, these conclusions will be subject to decision at the next session.
"If the other two members remain with their rigid positions and continue with the overvoting, I will be forced to request the protection of the vital national interest in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska," Cvijanović stressed.
The Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency said that she deeply believes that this behavior is not the way to overcome the current political and constitutional crisis in BiH, and that such attempts to manipulate and abuse not only the institution of the Presidency, but also the respected missions led by Soreca and Barbu, only further deepen it.
"The institutions of Republika Srpska, as well as the representatives of Srpska at the joint level, remain committed to internal dialogue and a peaceful resolution of the crisis. I believe that the preservation of peace and stability is of crucial importance for all peoples in BiH, therefore I urge you not to undertake actions that would further deepen the crisis," Cvijanović emphasized in the letter.
