SARAJEVO, MAY 14 /SRNA/ - Coordinator of the Expert Team of BiH for Trgovska Gora, Borislav Bojić, told SRNA that Croatia was unable to answer many of the questions it was expected to address today regarding the ESPOO Convention and that it did not comply with all of its provisions.
After the hearing between BiH and Croatia was held in Geneva before the ESPOO Convention Committee on transboundary pollution, Bojić said that the Croatian delegation came completely unprepared and that they intended to come to ESPOO "silently" and hide from the public the problems related to the avoidance of signed documents.
He said that the delegation of BiH had irrefutable arguments at the hearing.
Bojić expressed satisfaction with what members of the expert team and the French law firm "Laborde" presented before the Committee.
"We were asked three questions, which we explained in a well-argued manner. Croatia was asked 13 questions," Bojić said.
Bojić said that the Chair of the ESPOO Committee noted that Croatia was not able to respond immediately to most of the arguments presented by the delegation of BiH, and requested that it submit its position in writing.
"After that, a draft or proposal from the ESPOO Secretariat will follow, which will be submitted to us and Croatia, and after that, the Committee will issue its final conclusion," Bojić said.
He stressed that at that stage, everything will be examined in detail within the institutions of BiH.
"I am very, very satisfied with the performance of the BiH delegation," Bojić said.
Croatia plans to store radioactive waste from the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, as well as existing institutional waste, at the Trgovska Gora site in the municipality of Dvor, right on the border with BiH.
