SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 9 /SRNA/ – Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović conveyed to the ambassadors of the “Friends of the Western Balkans” initiative the official positions of Republika Srpska regarding European integration, emphasizing that most issues in BiH can be resolved through constructive dialogue and mutual respect.

At an official dinner with the ambassadors of the “Friends of the Western Balkans,” Goganović stressed that decisions in BiH must be made in accordance with the agreement of the two entities and three constituent peoples, as defined by the Dayton Peace Accords, the Office of the Deputy Minister of Defense stated.

During the discussion, the participants agreed that BiH has made progress in the area of European integration, but that future advancement will require strong political will and exceptional administrative effort, as well as decisive leadership capable of steering this complex process.

Goganović attended the dinner, held at the residence of the Greek Embassy in Sarajevo, at the invitation of the Greek ambassador to BiH, Ioanna Efthymiadu.

The dinner was also attended by the ambassadors of Austria, Georg Divald; Croatia, Ivan Sabolić; the Czech Republic, Jana Lolić Šindelkov; Italy, Sara Eti Catelani; Slovakia, Roman Hlobenj; and Slovenia, Damijan Sedar.

“Friends of the Western Balkans” is an informal initiative within the EU, established in 2023. It is composed of seven EU member states that focus on supporting the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU and on strengthening regional cooperation.
