BiH - State Property

BELGRADE, DECEMBER 5 /SRNA/ – European countries, through Christian Schmidt, are attempting to trigger destabilization in BiH because they need a crisis hotspot where they can manufacture problems and then solve them on their own terms, thereby justifying their failures and the “stupidities” they committed in Ukraine, assessed former Serbian Ambassador to the UN Branko Branković.
Commenting on Schmidt’s attempt, following the meeting of the Peace Implementation Council /PIC/ in Sarajevo, to again raise the issue of “state property,” Branković said that the self-proclaimed high representative is essentially only an executor in this process.
"It is clear why this is being done. Various circles, primarily in Europe, are persistently trying to bring the whole of BiH under one umbrella, because they cannot accept the fact that Republika Srpska is what it is. And it is what it is not because someone imagined it so, but because of the Dayton Agreement," Branković told SRNA.
He pointed out that many in Europe are irritated by Republika Srpska’s good relations with Russia and by the fact that SNSD President Milorad Dodik has frequently visited Moscow.
"Europe wants to use that as a pretext to identify a crisis hotspot, because it somehow needs to recover from its blunders regarding Ukraine. And where can they look for such a crisis? In the Balkans. That is why, through this charlatan Schmidt, they act toward BiH and the Dayton Agreement as they do, just as they exert pressure in many ways in Kosovo and Metohija," Branković said.
He believes that Serbia and Republika Srpska have been chosen as targets because it is easiest for Europeans to claim they are “mouthpieces of Russia” in the Balkans, which is not true.
Branković said that Europe nevertheless cannot achieve its plan to produce a crisis in BiH and in Kosovo and Metohija and then intervene to resolve the issue in a way that suits them and keeps the current ruling elites in EU countries in power.
"That is impossible after everything they have done, starting with Germany and France, where the governments’ seats are shaking and are on the verge of falling like ripe pears. They can try, but they will not be able to get out of the situation they created by walking over others," Branković assessed.
As for Schmidt himself, Branković stressed that one must always keep in mind that everything he does is unconstitutional and illegal, because he is an unauthorized high representative whom the UN Security Council has not accepted.
According to him, only domestic institutions in BiH can decide on state property, while Schmidt must understand that he has no authority there and is merely a bureaucrat, regardless of who may or may not recognize him.
