BONNAFONT: PARIS SUPPORTS POLITICAL STABILITY OF BiH

NEW YORK, MAY 12 /SRNA/ - France is committed to the political stability, territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH, French Ambassador to the UN Jerome Bonnafont said.

Addressing the UN Security Council session on BiH, Bonnafont said France supports all efforts by BiH to advance on the path toward EU membership negotiations.

He stressed that the future of BiH, as well as the entire Western Balkans, lies in the European Union.

Bonnafont called on all political actors in BiH to intensify efforts in implementing reforms.

He reminded that the "Five Plus Two" agenda objectives were adopted in 2008, noting that France hopes they can be achieved as soon as possible.

He also emphasized the importance of the elections in BiH, scheduled for October, and the need for them to be transparent and conducted with "electoral integrity".
