BELGRADE, OCTOBER 26 /SRNA/ – Political analyst Dragomir Anđelković told SRNA that, at the upcoming UN Security Council session on BiH, Russia will do everything it can to protect the interests of Republika Srpska from Western neocolonialism, noting that there is also a chance for the US to "slightly soften" its position toward BiH.
Speaking about the UN Security Council session on BiH, at which Russia is expected to present Republika Srpska’s report, Anđelković said that Moscow has long been defending Serbian interests in all international institutions and that it stands fully aligned with Banja Luka regarding Christian Schmidt and Western neocolonial practices.
"Russia will certainly do everything it can on October 31. The only question is whether that will resonate in the West, since Western countries refuse to hear anything that doesn’t suit them — even when it’s based on the truth. They cling to their own falsehoods and turn away from the truth they want to avoid," Anđelković said.
He noted that there is a chance the United States could "slightly soften" its stance toward BiH, primarily because US President Donald Trump understands that his so-called Euro-Atlantic partners are creating unnecessary problems.
"Trump is pragmatic. It’s not about a sense of justice with him, but about pragmatism. From that pragmatism, the US is gradually beginning to adjust its position on certain issues — including BiH. So there is a chance that things will move in a positive direction, step by step, because Banja lLuka is also pragmatically working to lobby in the US and find partners there. But one shouldn’t expect an overnight turnaround," Anđelković believes.
