ANĐELKOVIĆ: BOSNIAK POLITICIANS’ WAR RHETORIC REFLECTS THEIR POWERLESSNESS

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – Political analyst Dragomir Anđelković says that the war rhetoric of Bosniak politicians and their allies reflects their powerlessness, as they are once again talking about war but cannot provoke one due to a change in the US approach and developments in European countries, where increasingly stronger sovereigntist forces oppose a war-oriented approach.

Anđelković believes that demands by Bosniak politicians and foreign lobbyists to abolish Republika Srpska, terminate its special and parallel relations with Serbia, as well as to constitutionally restructure BiH and divide it into regions instead of entities, represent a repeat of what happened in the early 1990s.

He recalled that the war in BiH was triggered by imposing positions in an exclusive manner and without respecting the rights of the Serb people, stressing that today the same people who caused the war, whether they acted in BiH or from abroad, are once again acting aggressively in a way that cannot lead to anything good.

"If the war ended through a form of compromise, destroying that compromise means bringing back the circumstances that existed previously, i.e. provoking a war. Those who caused the war and started the fire are now trying to do it again. However, for them there is a serious limiting factor, at least for now, namely that the United States is no longer part of such a policy," Anđelković told SRNA.

He recalled that during the 1990s, the United States was part of a global war lobby that, in alliance with Bosniak extremists, caused the war.

"Now America is no longer part of that lobby, even within Europe itself there are increasingly stronger forces that do not support such a policy. We can see this in developments on Germany’s political scene, the triumph of the AfD, and the strengthening of national sovereigntist forces in France," Anđelković pointed out.

According to him, all these forces oppose a war-oriented approach, meaning that what is happening reflects the powerlessness of Bosniak politicians and their allies who once caused the war and are now talking about it again but are unable to provoke one.

"They are simply using war rhetoric for the elections so that some of their protégés can achieve results on the back of it. But they themselves are aware that, if they were unable to impose centralization and Muslim hegemony even with America’s help in the past, they certainly cannot do so now," Anđelković said.
