SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 29 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Srđan Amidžić, told Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković that the distribution of VAT revenues is prescribed by law, a fact that can also be verified through the lawsuit that has been announced.
Amidžić pointed out that it is also interesting that Konaković continues to place trust in officials from the SDA, the party from which he originated, and now even praises the actions of the Federation of BiH government official Zijad Krnjić, whose decisions, have resulted in increasingly long lines at border crossings into BiH.
"Konaković would appear less ridiculous if he played with the excavator he received as a gift, as perhaps he understands construction machinery better than the fiscal system," Amidžić wrote on the social network X.
He added that based on Konaković’s explanation of VAT revenue distribution, it is evident that he clearly did not pay attention in Math class.
"It can also be concluded that Konaković does not understand what final consumption in VAT actually means, let alone road tolls. For his information, the revenue distribution is exactly as prescribed by law, which they are free to verify through the lawsuit they are announcing," Amidžić stressed.
He reminded that Republika Srpska had already tested this issue in court back in 2018, when a final ruling determined that the Federation of BiH owed Republika Srpska BAM 35 million.
"The response from Sarajevo to that ruling was - we owe you. That model might be the best one - we’ll think about it," Amidžić added.
Konaković previously said he was not opposed to the actions taken by Zijad Krnjić and claimed that people in Republika Srpska “should know that they receive their salaries thanks to the stronger economy of the FBiH.”
