AMIDŽIĆ: NOT CLEAR TO KONAKOVIĆ HOW FOREIGN POLICY WORKS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – Minister of Finance in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić says it is not clear to Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković how BiH’s foreign policy works.

“His belief that he can expel someone from BiH is equivalent to believing that anyone could expel the French ambassador from England. Does anyone in BiH take Konaković seriously?” Amidžić asked.

He stressed that Konaković, Defence Minister in the Council of Ministers Zukan Helez, and others from Sarajevo are conducting their political campaign by displaying hatred towards Republika Srpska.

“Helez is directly threatening Republika Srpska with war, yet the opposition parties from Srpska are good enough for him. Zlatko Lagumdžija is doing the same, as he has an agreement with the Potočari Memorial Centre. Through increasingly aggressive statements, they are showing the Serb people what they think of them, therefore we must have a unified reaction to all of this, regardless of political party affiliation in Srpska,” Amidžić told ATV.

Amidžić said it was good that Christian Schmidt would no longer be able to impose laws in BiH, adding that he did not want to live in a country where someone imposes things on its citizens.

He noted that President Milorad Dodik had driven Schmidt out of BiH, while no one from the opposition had said that this had been done well.

“We have witnessed the kind of persecution Dodik went through, even though he was working for the benefit of Republika Srpska. I am glad that, after everything, it is now clear that he has not been written off, as some wanted, and that Srpska has good relations with all the important centres of power in the world. None of the local politicians has such contacts around the world,” Amidžić stressed.

He reiterated that Bosniaks cannot accept that BiH does not belong exclusively to them.

“Bosniaks cannot change, which is why I do not believe in BiH. They do not understand that the Council of Ministers is not a government, but a coordinating body,” Amidžić said.
