SARAJEVO, APRIL 7 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Srđan Amidžić, told SRNA that Elmedin Konaković is creating political conflicts and commotion to hide his connections with members of a drug cartel, while calling for the arrest of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, to avoid his own.
"Dodik’s name does not appear in the Sky communications of notorious criminals, or the Europol chart showing the Tito and Dino cartel’s network associates, but Konaković’s does," emphasized Amidžić.
He says that an unstable and disorganized BiH suits Konaković because, in a stable and organized country, he would have to answer the question of whom he sent the passport numbers of his family members, including his own, which were found on the phone of the closest associate of the cartel leader.
"In a normal country, he would not be allowed to warn the judiciary because it is investigating his godfather for serious criminal offenses and connections with a drug cartel, nor would he be able to pressure the media reporting on this," emphasized Amidžić.
According to him, Konaković has no right to hire any lobbying firm on behalf of BiH, as he is not responsible for its foreign policy; that responsibility belongs exclusively to the Presidency of BiH, which has neither issued an order nor given its consent for such actions.
"Considering Konaković's connections with members of criminal gangs, it would be terrifying if it turned out that this lobbying engagement is being used to launder the dirty drug money of his pals from the Europol chart," said Amidžić.
