MOSCOW, JULY 15 /SRNA/ - Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova urged those organizing a "new campaign" against Russia to heed the lessons of history and abandon any illusions of inflicting a strategic defeat on Moscow.
Zakharova emphasized that they should stop deceiving themselves by believing they can achieve a strategic defeat of Russia.
"Those planning a new so-called campaign against Russia should remember history and learn from it how their expansionist ambitions may unfold," Zakharova warned.
Zakharova recalled that Napoleon once assembled a coalition of European powers to conquer Russia, only to suffer a humiliating and shameful defeat.
Speaking about the situation in the Arctic, she emphasized that NATO's activities in the region significantly increase the risk of unintended incidents with the most serious consequences.
According to her, due to NATO's efforts, the Arctic is constantly and rapidly being transformed into a zone of confrontation with Russia.
