XI AND JABAROV SIGN DECLARATION ON COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

BEIJING, SEPTEMBER 1 /SRNA/ - Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, after which the two leaders signed a Joint Declaration between China and Kyrgyzstan on a comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era aimed at high-quality development.

Xi and Japarov also signed a Treaty on Permanent Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries.

The signing of this China-Kyrgyzstan treaty will provide an important legal basis for multi-generational friendship and strong mutual support between the two countries, the China Media Group reported.

During the visit, the two sides also signed more than 20 documents on cooperation in science and technology, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges, the media and other areas.

On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi Jinping congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its Independence Day, stressing that relations between China and Kyrgyzstan have experienced rapid development in recent years, contributing to the development of both countries and promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

He stressed that a high level of political trust and strong mutual support are important guarantees for the stable and long-term development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations.

China firmly supports Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, as well as its choice of a development path suited to its own national conditions, the China Media Group reported.

Xi said that China and Kyrgyzstan should deepen practical cooperation, diversify their trade, expand digital trade and cross-border e-commerce, ensure the high-quality construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and launch more projects in the fields of renewable energy and the circular use of resources, to enhance the efficiency of cooperation between the two countries through technological innovation.

The two sides should also further encourage mutual visits and strengthen cooperation in the areas of youth, media, tourism, sports, healthcare and local governance.

Xi stressed that China and Kyrgyzstan should expand security cooperation, jointly combat terrorism, separatism and extremism, and safeguard peace and stability in the region.

China is ready to further strengthen cooperation with the Kyrgyz side within the framework of the United Nations, jointly implement the "four global initiatives," oppose hegemony, uphold true multilateralism and promote the building of a fairer and more rational system of global governance, the China Media Group reported.

As founding members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, China and Kyrgyzstan should promote the high-quality implementation of the outcomes of the Tianjin Summit.

Japarov said that Xi's visit further demonstrated the deep friendship and high level of political trust between the two countries, while the signing of the Kyrgyzstan-China Treaty on Permanent Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation will open up broader prospects for bilateral relations.

“Kyrgyzstan thanks China for its selfless support and assistance provided at every crucial moment of the country’s development and admires China's remarkable development achievements under the leadership of President Xi.

During the meeting, it was said that China has always been a priority in Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy, as well as its closest friend and most reliable partner.

The Kyrgyz side firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to deepen its good-neighborly and friendly relations with China based on mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, the China Media Group reported.

The report states that Kyrgyzstan will strengthen cooperation with China in the areas of trade and investment, connectivity, technological innovation, energy, mining and the green economy, in order to jointly combat terrorism, separatism and extremism and safeguard regional security.

The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will become a new bond of friendship between Kyrgyzstan and China in the new era. Kyrgyzstan is ready to closely coordinate with China on multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the China-Central Asia mechanism and the World Organisation for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence.

On behalf of the government and people of Kyrgyzstan, Japarov expressed his deep condolences to China over the consequences of the disaster caused by a landslide in China's Xizang Autonomous Region /Tibet/, and expressed his confidence that China has the capability and determination to overcome the disaster and rebuild homes.
