VOLODIN BECOMES FIRST STATE DUMA SPEAKER TO SERVE MORE THAN TWO CONSECUTIVE TERMS

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has become the first speaker of the lower house of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to serve more than two consecutive terms.

At today's session, lawmakers elected Volodin to a third term with 406 votes out of a total of 442 deputies, TASS reported.

Volodin was nominated by the United Russia party.
