UKRAINIANS PROVOKE RUSSIANS TO TRIGGER POLICE REPORTS

LISBON, SEPTEMBER 28 /SRNA-RIA Novosti/ - Ukrainians in Portugal and other European countries are deliberately provoking Russians and then reporting them to police, Portuguese lawyer Alexandre Guerreiro said today.

Guerreiro said Ukrainians report to police that they were attacked by Russians because of their nationality and often record premeditated incidents in order to capture the victim's immediate reaction.

"I urge Russian citizens to be extremely careful. This is happening not only in Portugal, but in other EU member states as well," Guerreiro said.

According to him, most of the provocations have taken place online, but also in real life.

Guerreiro said Russians found guilty of "hate crimes" against Ukrainians in Portugal could face fines and prison sentences.
