TEHRAN, JULY 18 /SRNA/ – Two oil tankers caught fire after detonating naval mines in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps /IRGC/ said.
According to the IRGC, the vessels entered a route that foreign intelligence services had mistakenly assessed as being free of mines, Russia Today reported.
The Iranian Navy reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz remains completely closed due to what it described as US aggression and warned all vessels not to enter mined shipping lanes.
"Until the aggression comes to an end, there will be no possibility of exporting chemical fertilizers, nor even a single drop of oil and gas from this region," the statement said.
