TWO TANKERS ATTACKED

LONDON, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - At least two tankers were targeted in attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations /UKMTO/ said.

In two separate statements, UKMTO said both vessels had been struck by unidentified projectiles.

Iran did not immediately claim responsibility for the attacks, DPA reported.

However, Iran's Revolutionary Guards said that "military clashes are taking place every day in the Strait of Hormuz, but America has not responded for some time".

Attacks occur regularly in the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway of critical importance to global energy trade.
