WASHINGTON, AUGUST 8 /SRNA/ – The US Senate has confirmed the appointment of Todd Blanche, former personal lawyer to President Donald Trump, as US Attorney General.
Blanche, who had served as acting Attorney General since April, previously represented Trump in several trials before joining the administration.
The Republican-controlled Senate confirmed Blanche's appointment by a vote of 50-49, the Associated Press reported.
Democrats opposed Blanche's appointment, accusing Trump of turning the Justice Department into his political weapon.
