TRUMP: WE WILL NOT HINDER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPMENT

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ — U.S. President Donald Trump promised that U.S. administration would not restrict the development of artificial intelligence /AI/, despite calls for caution by executives of companies developing the technology.

"I will never stifle the growth of a technology that will be bigger than the Industrial Revolution. We cannot stifle it, and we are way ahead," Trump said at the presentation of a chatbot for the America.gov website.

Top executives from AI companies had lunch with Trump at the White House, including Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI President Greg Brockman, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk, whose X platform uses its own AI model called Grok.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also attended, the Associated Press reported.

Trump’s optimism about AI contrasts with warnings recently issued by executives in the technology sector themselves.

Earlier this month, Amodei called on leading companies to slow down AI development.

Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman have called for protecting measures to be implemented as companies report a growing number of cases involving unauthorized access to sensitive information by so-called AI agents.
