TRUMP SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH DENMARK AND GREENLAND

NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 22 /SRNA/ - US President Donald Trump signed an agreement with Denmark and Greenland today to enhance security in the Arctic and North Atlantic.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Trump provided few details about the agreement during his address to the UN General Assembly.

“We will immediately begin the process of developing a major military presence at appropriate locations, including the construction of two major bases,” Trump said.

Danish lawmakers approved a bill last year allowing the construction of US military bases on Danish territory.

This expanded an agreement reached with the previous US administration, under which US troops were granted broader access to air bases in the Scandinavian country.
