WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 20 /SRNA/ – US President Donald Trump's administration is preparing to impose sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court /ICC/ that could significantly restrict its operations, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials and documents.
Under the new restrictions, most transactions involving the ICC would be prohibited after a transition period of six to seven months, the newspaper said.
In particular, the ICC could lose the ability to conduct transactions in US dollars, which would substantially limit its access to the global financial system.
