TRUMP: IRAN MAY BE LINKED TO COPILOT WHO TRIED TO CRASH PLANE

JERUSALEM, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ – US President Donald Trump said that Iran may be linked to the Flydubai co-pilot who attempted to crash a passenger plane carrying 174 people on a flight to Israel.

Asked by reporters whether he was aware of possible links between the attacker and Tehran, Trump said that the matter was currently under investigation.

"Based on what I’m hearing, I would say the answer is yes," the US president added, according to the Associated Press.

Asked whether the United States would intervene against Iran if Tehran were found to be involved, Trump said that “they will be hit very hard.”

The co-pilot, an Omani national, attacked the Indian pilot during the flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv and attempted to crash the aircraft.

The passengers subdued the attacker, while off-duty pilots took control of the aircraft and landed it in Saudi Arabia, where the attacker was arrested.
