WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA/ - US President Donald Trump said the White House was not attacking the free press, but rather fake news.
"It is corrupt, purposeful, pervasive, fully coordinated and totally out of control," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He said that fake news posed a threat to national security and should be stopped immediately.
Trump stressed that he respected the free press, but added that fake news was "spreading like cancer."
It was reported earlier that CNN, MSNBC /formerly NBC News/ and Politico would sue Trump in an effort to overturn the ban imposed on the three media outlets barring them from accessing the White House.
