TRUMP DISMISSES TEHRAN'S PROPOSAL TO REOPEN STRAIT OF HORMUZ

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 26 /SRNA/ - US President Donald Trump rejected an Iranian proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if the United States met certain conditions, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The newspaper cited US officials as saying Trump rejected the proposal presented to reporters in New York by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The report added that Trump told aides he expected the bombing of Iran to resume after the US congressional elections in November.

Officials said Trump's position could change and could be influenced by the election results.

Araghchi said Iran had proposed a seven-day plan to the United States through Qatar.
