WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 11 /SRNA/ – US President Donald Trump said he was considering renaming either the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean "Trump Ocean" or "Ocean of America" before leaving office.

Speaking to voters in Tennessee, the president recalled his initiative to rename Lake Ontario as Lake America.

"I was thinking about either the Atlantic or the Pacific. We call it ‘Trump Ocean’ or ‘Ocean of America’. We should do that before I leave," Trump said.

Earlier today, Trump said his administration was considering renaming the Strait of Hormuz after the U.S. leader.

In September, Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario as Lake America.

The lake is part of the Great Lakes system and lies on the border between the United States and Canada.

Its shores are shared by the US state of New York and the Canadian province of Ontario.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said his country would continue to use the lake’s original name.
