"TOYOTA" RECALLS 655,000 VEHICLES DUE TO A DISPLAY ERROR

TOKYO, AUGUST 12 /SRNA/ - Carmaker "Toyota" confirmed that it is recalling around 655,000 "Camry" vehicles worldwide due to a display error that could disable signaling, such as turn signals and hazard lights, when the vehicle is started.

Most of these vehicles were sold in the US, where the problem is present in more than 508,000 hybrid "Camrys" manufactured this year and last year, AP reports.

According to documents published by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these vehicles have an issue with the seven-inch display, which controls the light signaling and warnings, and which may remain blank upon startup.

In addition to the turn signals and hazard lights, due to this problem, certain warnings may also fail to function, such as the seat belt reminder and the chime warning that the key was left in the ignition.
