ROME, JUNE 3 /SRNA/ - Rome was hit by a storm with heavy rainfall, and a tornado knocked down trees and market stalls in the capital of Italy.

The heavy rain led to the overflow of storm sewers and flooding in the settlements of Nomentano, Salario and Parioli, where traffic was stopped because the water level almost covered the cars, ANSA reports.

Many parts of Italy were hit by heavy rain today that caused flooding, especially in Friuli, Tuscany and Lazio.
