THREE EXECUTIONS CARRIED OUT IN ONE DAY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2010

NEW YORK, AUGUST 14 /SRNA/ - Three executions by lethal injection were carried out in the United States in a single day for the first time in the past 16 years.

Jeremy Williams was executed in Alabama for the 2021 rape and murder of a five-year-old girl. In Oklahoma, Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez was executed for the 2003 murder of his girlfriend, while in Tennessee, Anthony Darrell Hines was executed for the 1985 murder of a motel maid, TASS reported.

In most U.S. states, the death penalty is rarely imposed, and in some cases it is commuted to life imprisonment.

In 2025, a total of 47 inmates were executed in 11 U.S. states, the highest number since 2009.
