MADRID, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - A temperature of 45.7 degrees Celsius has been recorded in Spain, the highest since the beginning of the year, the Spanish weather service announced today.
The record temperature was recorded yesterday in the town of El Granado in southern Andalusia, on the border with Portugal, Spanish media reported.
It also broke Spain's previous September record for the highest temperature, set in 2016 in the town of Montoro, also in Andalusia.
Meteorologists have forecast unusually high temperatures for this time of year, around 40 degrees Celsius, for the weekend and the beginning of next week, particularly in southern Spain. /end/dlu/vos
